Description
O.C.E.A.N., Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating poverty and providing education and training, is seeking an experienced Property Manager to join our team immediately. This hands-on role is vital to our mission, overseeing tenant relations, property maintenance, financial management, legal compliance, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate will ensure our properties are well-maintained, tenants are supported, and rental operations run efficiently.
Responsibilities:
The Property Manager is responsible for the management of rent including subsidizing funding, tenants, and landlord-tenant laws, business operations, property records, accounting (data entry), taxes and submitting requests for property repairs. The Property Manager will also work to help make sure all Fair Housing and Anti-discrimination laws are fully enforced.
Duties include:
- Tenant management: Screening tenants, managing lease agreements, and handling tenant complaints.
- Property maintenance: Addressing maintenance requests, arranging repairs, and conducting routine inspections
- Financial management: Collecting rent, budgeting rent payments, and tracking expenses
- Legal compliance: Ensuring that the property and lease agreements are in compliance with the law
- Communication: Acting as a liaison with the tenants
- Vendor management: Ensure repairs and landscaping
- Other responsibilities: Determining rental prices, preparing vacant rental units, advertising rental vacancies, managing evictions, tax prep, and generating reports
- Property managers are responsible for ensuring that the property is well-maintained and that tenants are satisfied.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of prior property management experience and/or relevant experience in the duties of the role.
- Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) preferred. If not currently certified, must obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Must be able to regularly lift at least 45 pounds, with bending, stooping, and lifting as needed.

- Starting base salary for this role is DOE between $55,000 to $65,000
