Description
BEACON HOUSE CLINICAL THERAPIST
Beacon House is a non-profit 50-bed transitional living facility which provides a positive, safe, and accountable environment for men to overcome addiction and learn to live a productive life. Emphasis is placed on abstinence, a 12 step program and teaching life skills to assist residents in moving toward independent living and employment. Residents typically remain in the facility for 6-9 months.
The Therapist is responsible for acting as a support system for individuals admitted to Beacon House Aftercare behavioral healthcare services, IOP and OP. The Therapist is responsible to act as a guide to teach individuals challenged with a substance use or co-occurring problem how to modify their behavior with the intention of attaining long-term sustained sobriety by using evidenced-based therapeutic approaches, interventions and modalities.
- 1. Responsible for conducting weekly individual and family sessions with clients and their families.
- 2. Responsible for establishing positive and trusting therapeutic relationships with clients and their families.
- 3. Responsible for facilitating groups 4 times a week and according to the program schedule.
- 4. Responsible for implementing various treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address client situations.
- 5. Responsible for continually assessing client situations and provide the proper ongoing treatment interventions.
- 6. Responsible to document client progress and maintain concise, timely and adequate notes on all client, family and support network contacts and sessions.
- 7. Responsible for developing and implementing individual treatment plans based on information gathered in the assessments.
- 8. Responsible for completing substance use assessments using ASAM Patient Placement criteria for admissions, continued stay and discharge.
- 9. Responsible for following client confidentiality as outlined in 42 CFR Part 2 and 45 CFR - HIPPA and relevant state laws.
- 10. Responsible for coordinating services and consulting with treating practitioners for all co-occurring disordered clients and treatment plan accordingly.
- 11. Responsible to attend and participate in weekly clinical meetings and provide clinical input.
- 12. Responsible for participating in in-service and online training as required.
- 13. Responsible for providing individual supportive therapy and symptom management, or crisis intervention ensuring immediate changes are made to the treatment plan as client’s needs change.
- 14. Responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments (ASAM admission, Bio-psychosocial assessment, Trauma Screen, Columbia Suicide Risk Assessment), as required and medically necessary.
- 15. Performs other duties as assigned.
