Executive Director

Simply Cats is Boise’s original cageless, no-kill, feline adoption center.  Our mission is to save cats from suffering or euthanasia by practicing and promoting high standards of care and creating successful adoptions.  We are seeking an Executive Director who will provide administrative oversight of the general operations, fiscal management and ensure cost-effective and humane operation of the shelter.

Simply Cats Adoption Center is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization that relies entirely on donations for funding. We do not receive any government funds.

Responsibilities:

— Plans, organizes and directs Simply Cats operations and programs.  Develops and implements policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

— Prepares annual budgets, conducts budget reviews and periodic updates and forecasts.  Ensures services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.

— Develops a work culture that attracts and retains talented and diverse staff.

— Provides administrative leadership, working with the board of directors, donors, partners, and other stakeholders to sustain the mission of the organization and support animal welfare services.

Qualifications:

Ability to make informed strategic decisions that support the success and mission of Simply Cats.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field preferred.

Direct knowledge and experience overseeing complex budgets, generating revenue streams and limiting costs.

Experience overseeing the nonprofit status of organizations, including annual reporting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Passion for animal welfare and commitment to mission driven work.

Other Facts

Salary:  65,000 +, depending on experience.

Retirement and health insurance available.

This is an on site full time position.
