Description
Senior and Disability Action (SDA) is a nonprofit grassroots
advocacy group dedicated to organizing, mobilizing, and
educating seniors and people with disabilities, primarily in San
Francisco. SDA is seeking an Executive Director to guide the
organization into our exciting next chapter. The ideal
candidate should be based in the Bay Area and be prepared
to work in a hybrid setting from our office in San Francisco at
least 2 days per week. Note: SDA is not considering any out-
of-region candidates. Our next Executive Director will advance
the senior and disability movement by: Empowering SDA staff
members to sustain and increase mission impact;
Strengthening relationships with coalition partners, elected
officials, and government agencies; Maintaining a strong
funding base and overseeing financial management; Fostering
organizational growth; Utilizing a collaborative process to
build a vision for both the organization and the movement.
- Empathetic, kind, creative, and humble leader with an awareness of the senior and disability
communities’ needs and lived experiences - Commitment to disability, senior, racial, and economic justice, with personal and/or work
experience in these communities, and alignment with SDA’s mission and values - 3+ years of fiscal management experience, including budget development, expense tracking,
and compliance with financial practices - 3+ years of management experience, including staff supervision, team development, and
collaborative problem-solving - Grassroots community or labor organizing, advocacy, legislation, and coalition-building a plus
- Understanding of HR practices, with a commitment to being scent-free and supporting
accessibility safety policies.
