Job Summary:
The Education Programs Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of the Latino Film Institute’s educational initiatives. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, supporting staff development, managing quality control, and ensuring effective communication within the team and external stakeholders.
The Education Programs Manager will enable the Director of Education Programs to focus higher-level strategic planning and program development, contributing to the overall success and expansion of the organization’s educational programs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Program Implementation

Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, staff coordination, and troubleshooting, ensuring smooth execution of educational programs.

Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure that all educational programs meet and exceed established standards.

Support the Director of Education Programs in the development of new programs and initiatives, as well as stakeholder engagement efforts as needed.

Collaborate with the Programs Team to refine curriculum, instructional materials and relevant resources.

Implement process improvement initiatives that enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
Data Collection and Analysis

Develop and maintain systems for data collection and analysis, generating insights that inform strategic decisions and drive program improvements.

Gather data and feedback from participants and partners of education programs to assess their impact and effectiveness.
Networking and Relationship Building

Serve as a key point of contact for staff, participants, and stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication within the team and with external partners.
Logistics and Planning

Supervise the logistical aspects of all Education Programs, including scheduling, venues, and operational details.

Manage the production of YCP@LALIFF
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee all the Education Programs Coordinators and YCP Filmmaking Mentors.

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains Education Programs staff and seasonal contractors.

Provides guidance and direction for the daily workflow of the department.

Conducts constructive and timely performance evaluations for department staff.

Manages employee discipline and termination in alignment with the VP of PC&O.

Provide consistent support and training to team members, promoting a positive work environment and fostering professional growth.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven experience in program management, preferably within educational or non-profit organizations.

Strong leadership and team development skills, with a track record of supporting and empowering staff.

Excellent organizational and operational management abilities, with experience in scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and foster collaboration.

Proficiency in data management and analysis, with the ability to leverage data to drive program improvements.

Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in program delivery.

Fluent Spanish speaker, reader and writer required.
Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in education, film, or a related field required. Degree in film is strongly preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management within an educational or non-profit organization required.

Experience in curriculum development and management for education/youth programs preferred.
Work Schedule Expectations
This role necessitates a flexible approach to working hours, often exceeding 8 hours per day, including evenings and occasional weekends, to accommodate deadlines and organizational priorities.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Travel Requirements
This position requires occasional travel to school sites, programs events, or other program-related locations as needed to support LFI’s education initiatives. The Education Programs Manager must have access to a reliable vehicle for transportation.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee works in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate and constant distractions due to constant foot traffic, phones ringing, and people talking.
