Position overview:
The Director of Human Resources and Operations oversees all aspects of human resources management and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives. They will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with operational policies and regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proactive approach who is able to identify and implement changes, creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Management
- Develop and implement HR policy and initiatives aligned with Interledger Foundation’s vision and mission.
- Oversee all aspects of the recruitment process including but not limited to creation of role requirements and competencies for new hires, benchmarking salaries, creating job descriptions, job posting, coordinate and oversee interview process, ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and accessibility (DEIBA) best practice is followed.
- Support hiring managers and liaise with successful candidates through the offer process, including all required documentation is completed, background checks and references made, in accordance with country of residence requirements for new hires.
- Lead efforts to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Create, maintain and update employee policies with any legislative or compliance changes for all employee countries of residence, including local changes.
- Provide support for queries relating to employee employment contracts, benefits and policies, identifying and resolving issues accordingly.
- Manage online platforms that support HR functions
- Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends, including reviewing reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS).
- Develop and implement performance management systems, in accordance with Interledger Foundation’s values to be open, inclusive and innovative.
- Oversee employee relations, including recommending and taking appropriate steps for conflict resolution, enforcing disciplinary actions, and overseeing grievances.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration, health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Keeps abreast of the current trends, industry standards, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies within human resources, talent management, and employment law. Utilizes this expertise to effectively communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to both senior management and staff.
Operations Management
- In collaboration with the COO, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for operations across the Interledger Foundation, identifying risk and mitigating them.
- Work together with the COO to oversee the Foundation’s comprehensive insurance and risk management program in collaboration with Foundation leadership and insurance brokers to determine key exposure areas to assess financial and operational risks and insurance coverages.
- Monitor and measure the progress of organizational initiatives, providing regular updates to the COO.
- Work across the organization to provide support and guidance to ensure compliance and best practices for operational excellence.
- Assist in the management of vendor relationships, including research and procurement, negotiating contract terms, managing renewals, and identifying areas of risk.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with other senior leaders and departments to foster a collaborative and integrated approach.
- Promote effective communication, coordination, and knowledge sharing across teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and relevant organizations to support the Foundation’s mission and initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
- Master's degree in Human Resource Management and over seven (7) years of high level experience working within operations within a leadership capacity.
- Global experience is a must, with familiarity in supporting a distributed global team.
- Experience collaborating with and forming partnerships with payroll and employer of record (EOR) vendors.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and regulations in the U.S. Global compliance experience is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
