Position Overview - Director of Development
Join us in making a lasting impact! As Madonna Mission enters its 14th year, we are looking for a passionate and driven Director of Development to help us expand our funding and take our services to new heights. The Director of Development will lead fundraising efforts to support our organization's growth, with a current budget of $1,000,000 and an ambitious goal to double it in 2025. As we gear up for an exciting capital campaign, we're seeking an engaging and motivated candidate to join our team and help propel our mission forward at this pivotal moment in our organization's growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to Madonna Mission's Founder and Executive Director—and supported by an Assistant Development Director, a retained grant writer, and administrative staff—the Director of Development will primarily focus on major gift cultivation while overseeing all fundraising initiatives.
- Working with the Founder and Executive Director, establish and meet Madonna Mission's annual and long-term fundraising goals.
- Manage the organization's major donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process.
- Results oriented: secure major gifts in the first year.
- Work with the newly expanded and highly engaged Board Development Committee to assist Board members in identifying potential donors, and partner in follow-up activities.
- Manage and support development staff
- Develop strategic partnerships with corporations and foundations.
- Identify high-impact donors and create targeted development plans to earn and retain ongoing support.
- Review grants written by the grant contractor.
- Develop and oversee annual reports and other collateral pieces.
- Organize and participate in donor meetings and tours.
- Work with the office staff to manage all donor documentation via Little Green Light (CRM system) to ensure tracking as well as accurate and timely data entry, gift processing and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Events Committee to strategically plan and oversee events.

- Proven track record of soliciting, cultivating, and stewarding philanthropic support in an entrepreneurial environment, especially with regard to major gifts.
- Is achievement-oriented with a track record of meeting and exceeding goals.
- Excels at proactively engaging funders, staff, and volunteers by sharing compelling stories of impact and leveraging data to inspire and inform, creating excitement and support for our mission.
- Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset who takes a relationship focused approach to fundraising, prioritizing long term engagement and meaningful connections over transactional interactions
Qualifications
- At least 5 years nonprofit professional experience in revenue generation including demonstrated success securing grants and major gifts, leading campaigns, prospective donor outreach, and event planning.
- Bachelor's Degree in business, communications, public administration, or nonprofit management is preferred.
- Experience with CRM systems required. Current CRM is Little Green Light (LGL).
- Experience with both Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications required.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a collaborative work culture.
- Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience.
Benefits include health insurance, generous PTO policy, and a hybrid work environment.
