Organizational Summary:

Playwrights Horizons is a writer's theater dedicated to the support and development of contemporary U.S. playwrights, composers and lyricists, and to the production of their new work.

Director of Development

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Data Operations and Analytics Manager for a one-year contract position with the possibility of extension to join Playwrights Horizons and support the work of the Development, Marketing and Finance Departments. This position will be a resident expert on Tessitura and ensure consistency of use and maximize efficiencies. The Manager will be expected to work closely with each department to understand their needs and priorities and help design appropriate workflows, processes and reports. Additionally, the person in this position will work closely with the Manager of Sales to liaise with our Tessitura representatives and stay on top of industry best practices and evolutions. The optimal candidate will have a strong interest and experience in proactively identifying database efficiencies and a desire to work with colleagues from across the organization to ensure the database is aligned towards ensuring successful work flows. They will be an effective communicator and have a strong attention to detail. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Tessitura products and services including RAMP, TNEW, Analytics and Dashboards, as well as all integrated third-party systems (DPS Payment Express and Mail2) and any future integrated applications as required alongside the Manager of Sales
  • Conduct data analysis through Tessitura Business Intelligence suite to proactively inform Playwrights Horizons Marketing, Development, education and other business strategies, and to measure and report on the effectiveness of any implemented strategies
  • Generate user documentation and conduct training for all new Tessitura users across the company
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization to ensure effective utilization of Tessitura in daily operations, assist with problem solving, and offer support as needed
  • Serve as liaison between different departments to ensure data sharing is happening in a timely and useful manner and serve as a backup for data entry as needed
  • Set up and implement data management policies and manage clean-up and maintenance
  • Develop and distribute reports for the Development, Marketing, and Finance departments as well as other departments as required.
  • Participate actively in financial reconciliations and audit preparation work including month-end and year-end reports.
  • Ensure best practice web integration with Tessitura and ongoing development of TNEW.
  • Create customer lists and manage the integration of Mail2, associated data segmentation for electronic campaigns and setup of automated communications.
  • Create and implement policies to ensure data integrity, accuracy and security, and best-practice upgrades and advancements as well as troubleshooting identified issues
  • Process, analyze, reconcile and maintain the weekly performance cover sheet from the Box Office and support other Box Office data functions as needed. 
  • Alongside the Manager of Sales, represent Playwrights Horizons in the broader Tessitura community and maintain relationships across the Tessitura network 

Qualifications:

  • Prior significant experience working with Tessitura database including experience with overall system management and troubleshooting, report generation, and data entry
  • Demonstrated experience with TN Express Web (TNEW) and SQL
  • Demonstrated experience with box office functionalities and/or ticketing systems
  • Experience with managing cross-departmental relationships
  • Experience with Financial Edge a plus
  • Proficient in G:Suite including google docs and gmail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Compensation:

Playwrights Horizons offers a comprehensive benefits package including 10 days (two weeks) of vacation, four personal days, and 10 sick days. Employees have access to individual medical, dental, and vision coverage, with various plan options available through Oxford Health Plans. Playwrights Horizons partially subsidizes health and dental insurance and provides vision insurance at no charge to employees. Our benefits package further includes life insurance policy, a 403b retirement plan, and flexible spending accounts for medical, dental, and dependent care expenses. Other perks include a health reimbursement account, Transitchek for transportation expenses, and complimentary and staff-rate tickets to our productions. 

 

Salary: $60,000-$70,000

 

While we are posting for this to be a one-year position, we are interested in hearing from a wide range of candidates with Tessitura experience and interest in improving systems. This is a new position and we are open to different structures (i.e. part-time, contract-based etc…). Please note in your cover letter if a different structure would be more ideal for you.
