Reports to: Senior Regional Director for New England / Northwest Regional Director

Location: Boston, MA (New England) or Northern California (San Francisco Bay Area preferred for Northwest)

 
About the Roles
J Street seeks passionate and skilled individuals to join our teams in New England and Northern California. Both positions focus on strengthening J Street’s base of support, building relationships, fundraising, and deepening the organization’s impact in their respective regions. These roles are ideal for relationship builders with strong organizing and fundraising experience who are eager to work at the intersection of US politics and the Jewish community.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Development

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with existing donors to maintain and increase financial support for J Street and JStreetPAC.
  • Identify and develop new funding sources through prospecting, research, and engagement.
  • Plan and execute impactful donor and prospect events that raise funds and expand J Street’s network of leaders.
  • Cultivate donors for long-term growth, including multi-year and planned giving.

Relationship Stewardship

  • Identify, develop, and empower leaders in key cities to advance J Street’s mission.
  • Engage lay leaders in J Street’s advocacy work, political power-building, and community organizing.

Chapter Stewardship

  • Build the capacity of local chapters (New England or Northern California regions) to expand J Street’s impact.
  • Facilitate meetings and strategic programming to support chapters as hubs for the J Street community.


Required Skills and Characteristics


Applicants must have demonstrated the following:

  • Commitment to J Street’s mission.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with diverse stakeholders, including donors, leaders, and staff.
  • Experience in fundraising, including making direct asks and organizing events.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (valid driver’s license required).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the political and Jewish communal landscape in New England or Northern California.
  • Event management experience.
  • Knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its implications in American politics.
  • Comfort with basic data management.

 

Compensation

New England: $60,000–$95,000.
Northwest: $65,000–$85,000.

Salaries are commensurate with experience and adhere to pay bands outlined in J Street’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.
